Artist Comment: “This painting was a commission to honor Barry Caplan’s 50th year at the Sussman Shank Law Firm in Portland OR. It was an honor to paint his portrait for this occasion. The photo shows Barry and his wife’s first reaction to the painting, and you can see his wife wiping away tears, which is very moving for the artist (me) to see. It means I did my job! I’m so glad they are happy with the portrait!”

Artist comment: “This painting of my mother was probably one of the more difficult paintings I have ever done. But I had wanted to paint her for a long time, and I have to say that it was worth every minute I spent on it. This painting gave me a chance to spend time with my mom in a very different way, and the payoff is… she likes it!”
