Artist Comment: I’ve been a fan of Keb’ Mo’s music for almost thirty years. I’ve been to almost every one of his concerts in Portland, and have photographed most of them. His performance at Revolution Hall in 2022 was one of his best, and this painting is from one of my photos of that evening. I was intrigued by the way the light hit his face and the way it transitioned to the blue shadow, and I tried to capture that mood in my painting. It proved harder than I thought it would be (what else is new) but I pushed through and got it done!
