I’m so happy to be participating in the 2021 Portland Open Studios tour again this year, along with over 100 other artists around the Portland Metro area. It will be in person this year, October 9,10,16 & 17! Masks will be required for entry, and will be provided at the door. This is always a great opportunity to see where artists work and to interact with the artists! As in the past, I will be working on a new painting during the tour. My studio is #65 on the tour, and all of the studio addresses are available at the Portland Open Studios website, https://portlandopenstudios.com/. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone the weekends of October 9-10 & 16-17!
I am thrilled to share that my painting of Trombone Shorty was selected as a Finalist in the Portrait Society of America’s Members Only Competition in the “Outside the Box” category! This is a such a sweet achievement for me, since I have been entering this national competition for the past fifteen years! The 45 winners in this category can be seen on the Portrait Society Facebook Page, and I have to say it is so cool to finally see one of my paintings included with all of these wonderful artists! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=portraitsociety&set=a.10158915631467429

On April 2, 2020, I had to say goodbye to my beautiful little kitty Jazzmyn. She was the sweetest cat I’ve ever had, and I miss her so much. She was with me for thirteen of her 16.5 years, and she helped me through some very difficult times. Jazzmyn was my constant companion in the studio, spending lots of time on top of drawings that I was trying to work on, and jumping on top of my printer while it was printing. She loved to watch me while I was painting, and she followed me everywhere! I was hospice caring for her during her last few weeks, and I’m glad I did so many drawings of her over the past few years. It is wonderful to have these drawings to remember her by now that she’s gone. My drawings of her have inspired me to do more pet portraits, and if they inspire you to have a pet portrait done too, feel free to contact me for more info! Charcoal pencil portrait prices start at $100 for an 8×10 portrait, or $300 for a 15×19″ portrait! Email me with any questions, and I’ll be happy to answer!
CANCELLED! This would’ve been my 14th year participating in one of the best art walks in Portland, but due to COVID-19, this event is cancelled! Visit the MTAW website for more info and a free map: Mt. Tabor Art Walk.
I am honored to be featured in the latest edition of Realism Today, a weekly newsletter by Streamline Publishing. This interview took place after I attended the FACE Convention in Miami in November 2018, for which I was awarded a full scholarship.
