My mom, Victoria

Momjpg 1
VICTORIA S. RUSSELL September 2, 1928 – August 29, 2022

My mom, Victoria, passed away on August 29th, just four days before her 94th birthday.  She was a wonderful artist, and specialized in portraiture, still life, and creating whimsical characters and subjects, both from life and from her imagination. She loved all of the arts, including dance, music, theater, and literature, and she shared that love with her family and friends. Mom found beauty everywhere, and will be remembered as a woman of grace, kindness, and generosity. Her artwork has been archived on her website for everyone to see at https://www.victoriasrussell.com/. I love you, mom, and I’m forever grateful for the gift of art that you gave me.

Jazzmyn/Pet Portraits

On April 2, 2020, I had to say goodbye to my beautiful little kitty Jazzmyn.  She was the sweetest cat I’ve ever had, and I miss her so much.  She was with me for thirteen of her 16.5 years, and she helped me through some very difficult times.  Jazzmyn was my constant companion in the studio, spending lots of time on top of drawings that I was trying to work on, and jumping on top of my printer while it was printing.  She loved to watch me while I was painting, and she followed me everywhere! I was hospice caring for her during her last few weeks, and I’m glad I did so many drawings of her over the past few years. It is wonderful to have these drawings to remember her by now that she’s gone. My drawings of her have inspired me to do more pet portraits, and if they inspire you to have a pet portrait done too, feel free to contact me for more info! Charcoal pencil portrait prices start at $100 for an 8×10 portrait, or $300 for a 15×19″ portrait! Email me with any questions, and I’ll be happy to answer!
